Umbra
Umbra is a protocol that establishes a series of standards and a smart contract to enable stealth addresses on the Ethereum blockchain. A stealth address enables a sender to transfer Ether or ERC20 tokens to a recipient’s address while keeping the recipient’s identity hidden. On-chain, the transaction looks like a straightforward transfer to an unutilized address on the Ethereum network, whereas off-chain, the sender employs a public key to create a new address by encrypting the data used for its generation. Since its launch in June 2021, Umbra has handled over 85,000 transactions across various networks and is a publicly funded project for the common good.
